After 11 years of proudly serving our community, we are excited to announce that Grapple Academy is relocating to a new, highly visible home, right here in Nottingham at 7850 Rossville Blvd, Nottingham, MD 21236.
A New Chapter—Just Down the Road
For our students and families, this transition will be seamless—we’re moving only 0.8 miles from our current location. While our current facility is beautiful, the low visibility over the last year has presented challenges.
We are also proud to share that we will be occupying the former Baltimore Elite Martial Arts space—a location with a rich martial arts history. Before Baltimore Elite, the school was known as Rick’s Martial Arts, which served this community for many years. We are honored to continue the tradition of martial arts in this space and excited to serve not only our current students but also the same local community that Rick's and Baltimore Elite supported for so long.
Our new location is situated in a vibrant shopping center with outstanding neighbors such as Snapology for Kids (offering STEM and robotics classes, camps, and parties) and Drayer Physical Therapy, which serves both youth and adults. This environment offers tremendous synergy and deepens our commitment to the community we’ve been part of since 2014.
Enhanced Facility & Amenities
This move represents a major investment in your training experience:
• Expanded Mat Space:
This increase will provide more room, safer spacing, and an improved training environment for all classes.
• Improved Spectator Seating:
More convenient, comfortable seating will be available inside the grappling room, allowing parents to watch.
• Dedicated Sibling Area:
A separate waiting space for young siblings will help keep the training floor focused and distraction-free.
Our Long-Term Vision
Although we received 60 days’ notice to vacate, we want to assure everyone that this move was already part of our long-term strategy. We had begun discussions for the Rossville Center space prior to the notice, planning to relocate in spring 2026.
When the unexpected notice arrived, we immediately re-engaged with Rossville Center and worked out an accelerated lease that benefits both parties. Most importantly, the landlord genuinely wants Grapple Academy in the center and recognizes the value we bring to the community and surrounding businesses. Having a landlord who believes in our mission is exactly what we strive for.
We are more than a Jiu Jitsu school—we are a community rooted in growth, discipline, and connection. Our commitment to this area is stronger than ever, and we look forward to serving families for many years to come.
Though the timeline changed faster than we anticipated, we are approaching this move with positivity and purpose. Stay tuned for updates on our moving schedule and grand opening celebration.
